Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fredericksburg

Although hotel was not fully booked the stay was not up to Marriott (or Fairfield) standards. Requested/was approved for late check out - locked out of room after 12:00 noon had go back down to the front desk to have key reset. This should have been automatic. Hotel was out of bars of soap for the bathroom sink, had to use shower gel/body wash to wash hands. Only 3 pumps of body wash in the bottle in the shower, has to use shampoo thereafter. Tissue box in the bathroom was showing tan tissues indicating the box was low upon arrival. No refill box left by housekeeping. No wash cloths in the room, had to go to front desk and request them. No coffee available in the lobby at check in or after breakfast. Overall, the room was clean but it was the little things that added up to a less than desirable stay. We are Bonvoy Platinum members, expected better.

This hotel was good for what we needed it for, which was just an overnight stay. The room was weirdly warm in the night despite turning down the AC temperature (though it is pretty much the hottest summer ever). The bathroom door could not shut so it's a good thing that I was staying there with my husband, who has already seen the good, the bad, and the ugly...Noon check out was helpful.

Great value for the price! Rooms were roomy and clean. All the staff were more than friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast is typical of a complimentary hotel breakfast. We usually stay in higher end hotels, but this value priced hotel was perfectly fine. Met our expectations. We would certainly stay at this Fairfield again.

Worst one we have ever stayed at. Had a late check-in after a long 3+ hour drive with kids. Being regulars at Marriott hotels (Platinum membership) the room looked just ok but the nightmare was only about to begin. Room temp was at 79 when we walked in & we thought yeah they might have just turned the thermostat on. But even after 30 minutes temp was still the same so we called the front desk & the lady said will call us back as soon as she finish checking out the person she is talking to. We decided to cool off with a shower after the long hot day hiking. Another surprise was waiting, the hotel staff didn’t even bother to stock wash soap in the bathroom. By this time we were all dead tired. Decided to tuck the kids in & another surprise the linens weren’t there for the sofa bed. It’s already past 11pm now & still haven’t received any response from front desk. We called again & they said if AC is still not working they will move us to a new room. Waited again & around 11:20 a lady came in trying to see what’s wrong with the AC & said she will call a mechanic who lives ‘right around the corner’ & this can be fixed just like that. It’s past 11:30 now & we still were trying our best to not get upset with this whole scenario. 20 minutes later she comes back saying the mechanic already slept so they will give us a fan for the room. Now apparently all the rooms are booked up too so we can’t change rooms. She suggested keeping the windows open to get some air in on a humid 90+ temp night. Got 2 table fans which made so much noise but couldn’t make the room cooler. Decided to cut short our vacation & head back home with a pretty bad migraine. Totally disappointed with how you treat your guests Fairfield Inn.
